The Lovereading4Kids comment

A delightful story for children just starting to read alone or to read with mum or dad at bedtime. A stripy kitten causes all sorts of mayhem as it grows up into, not a cat that we all know, but a big bouncy tiger but Tim who Tig belongs to just doesn’t see what the problem is and he’ll do almost anything to keep it.

Piece from the author:

Have you noticed how most people think their pets are the best ever? People with growly dogs think they’re gentle; people with scratchy cats think they’re friendly. So how would it be if someone had a pet python? Or a pet gorilla? Or better still, a pet tiger! It was this last idea that got me started on Tim and Tig. And because I love tigers, I had to give the story a happy ending. But what would happen if someone really had a pet tiger for a pet...? No maybe it’s better not to think too much about that! After all, dear old Tig wouldn’t hurt a fly... would he???? Here, kitty-kitty. - Victor Kelleher

Synopsis

Tim And Tig by Victor Kelleher

Tim loves his big stripy kitten, Tig. He just can’t understand why other people behave so strangely when Tig is around. When the mayor accuses Tim and his family of
harbouring a dangerous animal, they can’t believe their ears. Surely their beloved pussy cat can’t really be –a tiger? What will they do now?
