The Lovereading4Kids comment

Stephanie Perkins has a real talent for capturing the feeling of being in love and for romantic suspense of will they, won't they. Budding designer Lola has an outrageous sense of style, a hot rocker boyfriend and big plans for the future. Everything is perfect - until a boy from her past returns to the neighbourhood. When he steps back into her world, Lola must decide whether he could be the love of her future and perhaps discover that true love can be closer than you think. A perfect holiday read that captures young love.

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins

Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn't believe in fashion...she believes in costume. the more expressive the outfit - the more sparkly, more wild - the better. And life is pretty close to perfect for Lola, especially with her boyfriend. That is, until the Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighbourhood and unearth a past that Lola thought was long-buried. So when talented inventor Cricket steps out from his twin sister's shadown and back into Lola's life, she must finally face up to a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

Magical...really captures the feeling of being in love. - Cassandra Clare (New York Times Bestselling author of The Mortal Instruments series) on Stephanie Perkins
