Alwyn was born in and loves living in the north east of England. She taught for 39 years before 'retiring', and still works to promote children's rights. A recent graduate of creative writing, she enjoys creating short stories for adults in addition to middle grade children's fiction. Other interests include walking, upcycling furniture and voluntary work for the National Trust.
