Books By Bill Mevin - Author
Bill Mevin began his career as an animator and worked on the first full-length British cartoon film Animal Farm. Next he went into the children's market, for many years drawing the then-current TV characters - Dr Who, Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Popeye to name just a few. Bill then worked on a satirical comic strip, based on the American soaps Dallas and Dynasty and called the 'Soapremes', which ran in the Daily Mail for almost a year. After a while Maurice Dodd asked Bill to take over the artwork for 'The Perishers', the longrunning strip in the Daily Mirror. He drew it for 14 years until the death of its scriptwriter. Bill was also an artist on the early TV Comic 'Doctor Who' stories. He was also the cover artist for Doctor Who Classic Comics issues 7 and 15. An excellent caricaturist, nowadays Bill is often asked to provide drawings for Perisher fans and charity auctions.
