David Reilly was born in Glasgow in 1948 and his book Oot The Windae has received worldwide acclaim. It is his story written in verse, being brought up the eldest of 5 boys in the city's East End. He decided to turn has talent to writing children's books and was inspired by Julia Donaldson's The Gruffalo which is similar to David's own style of writing.
