Maggie Lykens grew up in Upstate New York surrounded by the rolling hills, falls, lakes, streams and wooded country sides. She began writing poetry as a young girl around age 11. She learned to play the guitar by her father, who spent much time teaching her chords and little tunes. Maggie embraces living in the county near rural farms and horses, which she has great admiration for. She thrives on the fresh air and nonconfining sceneries. She has fond memories of her childhood, due to her parents love and affection towards one another, her twin and two older sisters, as well as aunts and uncles who always brought many humorous family tales to the kitchen table. Her home was filled with much laughter. She loves telling stories in a poetic format and has continued to add to her collection over the years. She writes Christian songs and is thankful for all the blessings God has brought her way. She hasn't always had an easy life however, music and poetry has been her lifeline, second to God.
