Fiesta Femenina is her first title for Barefoot Books. Maya Gonzalez is an award-winning illustrator and graphic artist. She has illustrated many books for children, including Laughing Tomatoes and Other Spring Poems by Francisco Alaron (1996), which won the Pura Belpre Honor Award. Maya lives in San Francisco, California.
