Matt Pelicano was born and raised in Upstate New York. He is the youngest of eight kids. As a teenager, he loved the poetry of Robert Frost, E.E. Cummings, William Shakespeare, Walt Whitman, and Hayden Carruth. At age 11, he pulled an old guitar out of the trash, taught himself to play, and soon began writing lyrics, songs, poetry, and short stories. Matt has 3 children and lives in Greenville, SC with his family of people, five cats and one dog.
