Ultimate Football Heroes, the hugely popular sports book series loved by children across the world, has launched an exciting new podcast for young football enthusiasts, with the very first episode available from today.

Packed with the latest football news, lively discussion and brilliant trivia, the podcast is designed to give young listeners a fun and welcoming space to share their passion for the beautiful game. Episodes are a speedy ten minutes and will land every Tuesday, with additional bonus episodes featuring exclusive audiobook extracts from across the Ultimate Football Heroes collection.

Produced by Kobi Omenaka, co-founder of Stripped Media, and executive produced by Bonnier Books UK’s Marina Stavropoulou and Jon Watt, the show is hosted by Hammersmith FC goalkeeper Issy Brand and Fun Kids presenter George Butler.

The launch comes at a particularly exciting moment for the Ultimate Football Heroes brand. With a busy 2026 ahead, fans can look forward to several World Cup tie-ins, including World Cup Greatest Moments, a World Cup Colouring Book and Ultimate Football Heroes Generations, England’s Heroes. New biographies are also on the way, shining a spotlight on Florian Wirtz, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lionesses star Chloe Kelly, available across all formats including audio.

Aimed at listeners aged seven to twelve, the series continues its mission to spark a lifelong love of reading, especially amongst those who may be reluctant to pick up a book. To date, more than three million copies of Ultimate Football Heroes titles have been sold worldwide.

Speaking about the new venture, Marina Stavropoulou, managing editor for audio at Bonnier Books UK, said the team were thrilled to create “a community around a beloved brand and a game we’re all passionate about”, adding that promoting literacy and giving children a space to share their voices sits at the heart of the project.

Producer Kobi Omenaka described the show as “like chatting football with your best mate, but with extra trivia, birthday shoutouts, and a load of laughs”, created for young fans who simply cannot get enough of the action on and off the pitch.

Host Issy Brand shared her excitement about giving football-loving kids a platform to share their stories and opinions, while co-host George Butler looked forward to weekly chats, highlights from young supporters and, hopefully, the chance to celebrate a few Nottingham Forest victories along the way.
