Still hungry, Hoot Owl tries some more clever disguises – first attempting fluffy sheep, then ornamental birdbath!
At last, ‘eyes glittering like sardines’, he manages to successfully sneak up on a pizza and eats it with his ‘deadly-dangerous beak’. Whether peeking out at his would-be victims, or swooping sideways through the shadows Hoot Owl cuts a very comic figure, and his extravagant similes are hilarious.
