Daisy Daydream the Nursery Rhyme Bus Synopsis

A story based on a, once real, Playbus. The Playbus was a much loved haven for children to come along and play. This is the fourth book about the Playbus and begins with a red London, double-decker bus which is being updated by newer shinier buses. A picture book for children aged 5 - 8 With a theme of recycling the story has a message that not everything old should be thrown away. Any child who enjoys stories about transport will love this and of course will want to find a playbus to play on.

Daisy Daydream the Nursery Rhyme Bus Press Reviews

''A sweet story, wonderfully illustrated, and with a very important message.' The Wishing Shelf

I very much enjoyed this short story for children; but, most importantly, so did my young daughter. The writing style, often simple but always very, very visual, works perfectly for a picture book of this nature. Pacing is also excellent, the paragraphs never overly long, perfect for a restless child at bedtime.

There was so much to enjoy here, whether it be the wonderfully playful language - I particularly loved 'Her new green and blue colours became a landscape filled with trees and rolling hills - or Daisy, the bus, who helps the young reader to understand how not everything old should be thrown away.

I must devote a little ink to discussing the drawings. For my daughter, they were the best part of the book. Yes, she enjoyed the plot, the small number of characters and settings, but it was the colourful, even delightful drawings that had her enthralled. There are plenty too, and they, along with the lightly-written story, kept her enthralled at bedtime.

I would think any parent who is looking for a lightly-written, sweet story for children aged 5 - 8 would find this book fits the bill perfectly. Also, there's a lovely theme of 'recycling' to the story that parents will be happy to share with young children. And, of course, any child who enjoys this book will instantly want to find a play bus to play on. I know my daughter did.

Colorfully illustrated and with plenty happening to keep a child amused, it might prove very popular at bedtime.
