LoveReading4Kids Says
When we first meet Godfrey, he’s just an egg floating in a pond. Soon though, he has two bright eyes, then legs, arms, a long, sticky tongue – Godfrey is a frog! Uh oh though, Godfrey is waiting to see what happens next…
Readers of course will know that he’s evolved as far as he’s going to, which makes the next page of pictures of Godfrey waiting hopefully sad, but also very funny. Looking at his animal neighbours, Godfrey envies them their attributes, dragonfly’s wings, snail’s shell, even minnow’s fins and sunk in depression to the bottom of the pond, it’s only when his friends point out all he has that they don’t, that Godfrey makes his last big change …
This is a funny but telling story about being happy with who you are and probably particularly relevant in a society in which we’re constantly comparing ourselves with others. It’s also a lovely introduction to the life cycle of the frog too!

About
Godfrey is a Frog Synopsis
Godfrey used to be an egg, then he was a tadpole. Now, Godfrey is a frog. He changed quickly and it was all very exciting. He's waiting for the next change . . . but it seems there isn't one.
Is this it? Godfrey thinks. It's not very exciting. Bear has wonderful claws, Deer has impressive antlers, Heron has majestic wings. Godfrey buries himself in the mud and hides away from the world. He doesn't want to be just a frog.
Can Brinley the minnow, Radcliffe the snail, and Penelope the shrimp convince Godfrey that a frog is a pretty special thing to be?
This important story about learning to love yourself will have readers jumping for joy.
