About

Starting from Seneca Falls Synopsis

The poorhouse sent Bridie to work for a farmer who beats her so badly she has to escape. As she runs for her life, she meets Rose, a free black girl who can't go to the school closest to her because it's for only white children. Rose helps Bridie get a job working for a strange lady named Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Soon, the girls are caught up in Mrs. Stanton's plans for a convention on the rights of women, and they keep hearing Mrs. Stanton and her friends talk about human rights. But human rights have nothing to do with Bridie and Rose. Do they?
