About

Synopsis

This is a story about Farmer Baker, a crow, and a scarecrow. Each year in the spring, Farmer Baker makes a new scarecrow, but what he doesn't know is that all the scarecrows he makes actually come to life. After making his latest scarecrow, named Ricky, he takes him out and positions him in the field. A few days later, in the forest nearby, a young crow named Harry is playing with his brother when he loses his balance and falls out of the nest. Harry spends hours on the ground calling for his Mum and Dad, but they can't hear him. As Harry looks up at the tall tree towards his nest, he realises that he can't see very well. The next day, Harry decides to walk out into the field to see if he can get help. As he walks across the field, he can faintly see what he thinks is a man standing in the field. As he walks nearer and nearer, he still thinks that Ricky is a man, and he asks him for help. Although Ricky is a scarecrow and is there to scare away all the crows, he agrees to help Harry. Read on to see how their friendship, and that of Farmer Baker's previous scarecrows, progresses.
