The stakes are getting higher all the time for Tilly and her beloved Magic Spirit. They’re preparing to compete in the Under 18 UK Championships and she’s been picked for the Regional Team Championships, but both depend on them competing as a team and all that seems over when Magic Spirit’s original owner arrives to claim him back.
All the man cares about is money, and when he says he’s selling Magic Spirit to a new owner far from Silver Shoe Farm, Tilly is heartbroken. She can only watch as her teammate/rival Kya gains sponsorship and looks set to take their place on the regional team. But Tilly’s luck changes just in time as new owners are found for Magic Spirit, who want them both to do as well as they can.
Readers will be longing for Tilly and Magic to be reunited, and with them all the way as they take the jumps on the cross-country course, including the tricky Trakehner. The story is enthralling but we learn so much too about caring for horses and about competing at high level. Reading doesn’t get better than this if you love horses.
