If Polar Bears Disappeared

If Polar Bears Disappeared Synopsis

A beautifully illustrated narrative non-fiction picture book that imagines the consequences of a world without polar bears

The Arctic is home to many different kinds of animals. They can be strong like a walrus, tough like a lemming and sometimes hard to see like a polar bear. But now their habitat is melting at an alarming rate. As the Arctic ice melts, polar bears are threatened with extinction. What are the terrible consequences if polar bears truly disappeared? Artist and writer Lily Williams explores how such a loss would affect other environments and animals across the planet in this clever, gorgeous book demonstrating the vital importance of polar bears.

A stunning picture book for children age 5 and up, and a perfect introduction to the themes of climate change, conservation and the importance of ecosystems.
