Forever on a noble quest to escape the annoying limits of his wee existence, Pignoli knew nothing of the welcome opportunity that was about to present itself until it did…a life-altering event upon which he would quickly seize, thanks to his wits and an uncanny knack for sensing a good skittle skattle adventure. In Pignoli and the Chocolate Thief, Pignoli, a tiny mouse from the village of Arancia, is bored with his life. Cleverly jumping into an open carpetbag, he makes his way, by train, to faraway Le Clerc. There he meets Hammett, an orphan boy whose only wish is to make a sad orphan girl happy. Pignoli agrees to help and the two become fast friends as they embark upon a good skittle skattle adventure. Despite a foul orphanage matron, who is determined to stop them, Hammett and Pignoli always seem to outsmart her on this heartwarming journey of friendship, hope, and…dreams come true.
