Rósmáire Ní Ghrifín is an ordinary young girl, or so she thinks. She has to contend with the usual difficulties: a mean older brother, a cross school teacher and the difficulties of getting onto the school football team. Things don''t always go smoothly for her, and her 10th birthday proves no different when everyone except her horrid brother forgets it, her mother goes into hospital and her teacher punishes her.
