The Night Hunters Synopsis

Luke has always longed for a dog. When he and Zoe discover an abandoned puppy on the midwinter heath, it's a dream come true. But dreams can turn into nightmares.

A sinister new guest called Mr Dando has arrived at the seaside hotel run by Luke's mum. He seems to be after the puppy, and as feral black dogs begin stalking the isolated East Anglian village of Wick, Luke himself is threatened. With his father overseas on a secret mission and the outside world in the grip of the Cold War, among the villagers of Wick there are ancient superstitions about the Wild Hunt, a pack of supernatural hounds that hunt the night sky and prophesy Doom.

New Year's Eve approaches and the Hunt gathers on the heath. When Luke's little sister Rose falls dangerously ill and Mr Dando summons the legendary 'devil dog', Black Shuck, to his side, Luke realises he must defeat Dando to save everything he loves - and so much more.
