A cheerful family sets off on a bear hunt through long grass, a splashy river, squelchy mud, and a swirling snowstorm, chanting "We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one-what a beautiful day! We're not scared." With onomatopoeic sounds like swishy swashy and squelch squerch, they brave obstacles until they find a real bear and race home giggling. Michael Rosen's rollicking adaptation of the camp song is a bouncy, repeatable delight.
This classic dual language picture book bursts with Helen Oxenbury's enchanting illustrations that capture the thrill and cosiness of adventure. Ideal for acting out in gardens or classrooms, it builds language skills with adjectives, prepositions, and sounds, making it a must for families to explore bravery, nature, and family fun.
