Davey's Daydreams

Davey's Daydreams Synopsis

From Louise Gooding, author of Wonderfully Wired Brains, comes a heartwarming story that reframes daydreaming as a superpower for different thinkers.

Meet Davey, a little boy with a very big imagination who desperately wants to be Star of the Week. But instead of paying attention, he's often busy fighting dragons, becoming a sporting superstar, or wandering inside a mummy's tomb. All this worry over his easily distracted behavior makes him think he'll never win.

This engaging picture book gently validates children who feel misunderstood, supporting social-emotional development and celebrating neurodiversity. During a special art class, Davey finally gets the chance to prove that his daydreams aren't a flaw; they're how he processes the world and a brilliant creative outlet.

Perfect for neurodivergent kids and active imaginations, this story features:

• An empowering message reframing daydreaming from a "negative symptom" into a positive creative outlet.
• A highly relatable character validating the everyday experiences of kids who feel misunderstood for their fidgety behavior.
• Vibrant and imaginative artwork by Irina Avgustinovich capturing the magic of Davey's daydream adventures.
• An excellent conversation starter for discussing ADHD, autism, and cognitive diversity, from the celebrated author of the highly commended Wonderfully Wired Brains.
