Johanna Tarkela - Illustrator

Johanna Tarkela is a Finnish digital illustrator, currently living in North East of England. She's been a full time freelancer since 2015 after graduating from Norwich University of the Arts with a BA in Illustration. A versatile artist who's skilled in a range of styles from realism to more stylised work. Johanna enjoys creating vibrant, whimsical illustrations with a touch of fantasy.

Johanna is heavily influenced by the natural world, both the creatures and environments, all her art is made from scratch, with no generative AI in the work process.

Johanna has worked with a variety of clients to create character art, concepts, sketches, storyboards and finished illustrations for books, board games, school books and advertising & packaging.
