Jasper: Space Dog Reader Reviews

Jasper: Space Dog

A quick, funny and factual book.

This book is funny and filled with facts. It is about a dog called Jasper, his owner and a parrot called Parrot. Jasper wants to go on an adventure and put the first paw on the moon. They think the moon is made of cheese and if they brought some cheese back they would call it Blue Luna. This has facts about the moon and the first, second and third man to land on the moon. The parrot is trying to figure out how to say jazz (Jasper’s nickname).

I would recommend this book to kids who like fiction books with true facts.

I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The book is really funny. The pictures are great. Most of the words are really easy to read. I would recommend this book for boy and girls.

The book is really funny and the boy thinks of lots of different questions which is good. The pictures are great. Most of the words are really easy to read and I finished the book from beginning to end in one go. I would recommend this book for boy and girls about my age.

Funny and interesting with lots of information about space!

This was all about a boy called Charlie Tanner, his dog Jasper, his parrot called Parrot and a space scientist called Isabella. Charlie writes letters to Isabella asking lots of questions about how things work in space and what happens there. I thought it was cool when Jasper went to space! The most interesting fact I learnt was that in space you are only allowed food that is in packets. This book was so funny, asking if astronauts ate hot dogs and if rockets bumped into the cow jumping over the moon, but it explained lots of interesting and useful things. I really enjoyed learning about space! 4/5

Brilliant and Funny Book full of interesting facts.

Jasper: Space Dog is a great book with beautiful illustrations as the Charlie and his dog Jasper wants to learn about space mission of the first moon landing with interesting questions like is the moon was made of cheese? If Pizza delivery was possible in space, etc.

I really liked how the author had used letters to show the communication between the characters. My favourite character is Jasper as he is very interested in learning about space like me. My favourite part of the book was to read about the exciting facts about the Apollo 11 space mission of moon landings.

This is a brilliant book because it is full of really interesting facts about the first moon landing mission with the help of letters which Charlie and his dog Jasper sent to Dr Isabella the rocket scientist asking funny questions. I really enjoyed reading this first book in a series of Jasper the dog and can't wait to read other books in the series.

I would like to recommend this book to everyone as it is both funny and informative book.

I think space is so cool. Charlie and Jasper have lots of ideas and questions. I would like to go to space.

Jasper and Charlie have so many good questions. I think they are silly, the moon isn't made of cheese! I loved reading this story. Thank you!

This book is brilliant combination of fact and fun.

This book is brilliant combination of fact and fun. It is an easy read with lots of brilliant images to keep younger readers engaged with the story. The letters back and forth between Charlie (and Jasper) (and Parrot) and Isabella the astronaut are easy to follow and is filled with everything you would ever want to know and more about space.

I enjoyed the aloof nature of Parrot, and the enthusiasm of Jasper and Charlie. The book includes common questions about space like is the moon really made of cheese? To facts about the first moon landing that I didn’t really realise before – that Michael Collins didn’t have a chance to walk on the moon as he had to stay on the command module.

The book ends with more bullet point facts about the moon landing that are easily digestible for younger readers. It is also the perfect ending to see Jasper fulfil his dream and walk become a ‘space dog’. It is a positively reinforced subtext that it is great to be passionate about a subject and work hard for something you want. I know the rest of the Jasper series will be great and I would definitely recommend this book.
