Very exciting and thrilling with drawings to bring the story to life.
At last an adventure book with a young boy as the main character, and he’s not naughty but sensible and brave! Very exciting and thrilling with drawings to bring the story to life. Hopefully there’ll be more in the series. Recommend for ages 8 and up.
Will and his dog/wolf Whisker have to help save Maple Pack. This is a fun story especially for anyone who has a pet dog or wants one!
This book was a bit young for me if you go by the reader age, but I still really enjoyed it. I have pet dogs and I wish they could talk to me the way Whisker talks to Will.
The two of them have a brilliant adventure, making new friends along the way, both human and wolf.
I liked the idea of the three moons converging to make an eye and the magic it created. I did think the story was a bit strung out, it definitely didn't need to be this long, but on the whole I really enjoyed it.
As the story went on, though, we enjoyed it more and would encourage readers to stick with it.
We shared Will Wolfheart together as a mum (and teacher) with two children aged 8 and 12. The book has an appealing storyline that will attract children who love their pets. The idea of a canine best friend turning into a talking wolf and leading you into a magical land is lots of fun. At the start, the story moves quite quickly, with a lot of dialogue, which made it hard to connect with the characters straight away. For my younger reader, this meant he didn’t get drawn in very quickly, while for my older reader the plot felt a little on the young side. That said, as the story went on, we began to connect more with the characters, and the adventure drew us in. I would encourage readers to keep going through the opening chapters.
