This is one of the best books I've ever read - and I've read a lot! The story is about an adopted child called Jamaal Target who is over at his friends house when he realises that it's time to leave. A completely black car rolls up outside the house; its licence plate is blank. When it eventually leaves after the strange silver people inside have finished surveying Jamaal's house (across the street), he leaves to go home. Suddenly the car appears out of nowhere, zooming along at high speed, and it doesn't look like it's going to stop! Jamaal does the first thing that comes to his mind: he jumps - and clears the entire car! This begins an imaginative thriller as Jamaal works together with the agency PHANTOM to defeat an evil man called Sergeant Smoke. Sergeant Smoke is creating super soldiers from normal people, but in the process he destroys their minds, which means they can be controlled by a mythical item known as the electroplate - or Sergeant Smoke himself.
I would recommend this book for ages 10+ and give it 5 stars!
Full of adventure, interesting characters and a great storyline. A great book full of twists and turns about an ordinary boy whose life changes suddenly. He goes on adventures and learns how to defend himself.
I liked this book as it full of adventure and has interesting characters. After every chapter, I wanted to read on. It has 20 chapters in total. The storyline centres around Jamaal and how his life changes when strange things happen. He becomes part of a dangerous world and has to learn to defend himself. He is challenged and learns more about the people around him. It was a great story to read.
A fabulous read! It takes you an adventure like you've never been on before. It's full of super powers and spying and lots more.

Jamaal never wanted to be a super hero until one night his friend, Myla, got kidnapped and he tried to rescue her from the evil Smoke. He was welcomed into a secret society called 'Phantom' where he became friends with Khaled, Lori, Olive and Rogan who wanted to help save his friend with him. On their quest they had to find clues with the help of the top secret organisation, fight super soldiers, protect a case and defeat Smoke once and for all.
With a mole in their society, will they succeed on their quest?
This story will appeal to fans of Spiderman and Alex Rider because it is full of spying and characters with super powers. The book with have you hooked from the very start and the ending might not what you might expect.
I love this book because it's so detailed and it's extremely adventurous, it has shocking scenes and friendships that are inseparable.
My favourite character is Jamaal because he never gives up even in the hardest times, the best thing about him is he fights for his friends and family!
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars, this is such a good book, I hope there is a second one! And if there is, I am looking forward to it.
I recommend this book to people who are 9-13 years old.
This book is about a boy called Jamaal, whose friend Myla got kidnapped by some silver skinned people who work for Smoke, a man who created them.
Jamaal’s parents were created by Smoke, but they found something that if someone says their real name they turn back to normal for a few minutes, and then they have Jamaal which means Jamaal is half created by Smoke, Jamaal has super good hearing, cannot feel pain but does NOT have silver skin.
Then Jamaal bumped into someone from an agency called Lori who works for PHANTOM, together, they go on a long expedition to find Myla, but whilst this is happening, a traitor among PHANTOM tries to stop them.
Little did they know they found something called the electroplate, a little device that has secret footage about Smoke, will they rescue Myla or will they fail... you will have to read the book to find out!
