The Lovereading4Kids comment

This witty story about an incredible granny will delight young readers. Grandma Bendy was once a criminal using her bendiness to bad ends. Now she is reformed and only uses her bendiness to be helpful! The result is a delightful story full of an unusual granny doing some very unexpected things!

Grandma Bendy features in the top-rating CITV show, Bookaboo, on Saturday at 7.25am 6th July 2013 on CITV & ITV1 and repeated on the 7th July. The guest reader of Grandma Bendy is Canadian actress, Tara Spencer-Nairn. Bookaboo’s message about the importance of sharing the reading experience has proved popular with both children and adults. Last year, Bookaboo won the British Animation Award for Best Mixed Media series, which follows previous awards including two BAFTAs, a Broadcast Award and the 2010 Prix Jeunesse. Thanks to the generosity of contributing publishers, 1000 books are donated every episode to disadvantaged children.

Grandma Bendy by Izy Penguin

Grandma Bendy is the bendiest grandma. She has twizzly arms and super stretchy legs!
In the past Grandma Bendy used her skills for bad and was an excellent burglar. However a taste of her own medicine sets her on the straight and narrow!

With a loveable character that children can relate to, this book teaches children that it is wrong to take other people’s things. There are lots of small details for children to
find on the page and a story that appeals to both boys and girls. It's also a great gift idea to receive from grandparents !
