Peter Härtling, 1933 in Chemnitz geboren und 1945 mit seiner Familie nach Nürtingen geflüchtet, veröffentlicht seit 1953 Gedichte, Aufsätze, Romane, Erzählungen und Kinderromane. Sie wurden in mehr als zwanzig Sprachen übersetzt und mit zahlreichen Literaturpreisen ausgezeichnet. Verfilmt wurden u.a. seine Kinderbücher 'Oma', 'Ben liebt Anna' und 'Krücke'. 2003 erhielt er den Deutschen Bücherpreis für sein Lebenswerk.
