When an egg blows up to the barn during a storm the animals try to decide to whom the egg belongs. When the egg hatches a baby turtle emerges and the animals decide the egg belongs to everyone.
The animals are having a beauty contest and Monkey helps out by opening a beauty parlor called the Beauty Branch. At the last second Gazelle wins the contest just by looking natural.
After Emma discovers that her seashells contain hermit crabs she tries to use other beach souvenirs to make a home for the hermit crabs. Later she realizes that she must return them to the beach and recognizes that the best souvenirs are good memories.
The story begins by introducing Bear a cat who spends the evenings with Rusty and Robbie and Max a cat that visits Sheila every day. When Bear goes missing Sheila figures out what happened.
