The Story of King Arthur and His Knights
For hundreds of years, the legend of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table has been one of the world's most precious literary possessions. In 1902, the distinguished American artist Howard Pyle undertook to retell this classic. His four-volume work on King Arthur has long been considered one of the outstanding interpretations of the Arthur cycle. This first volume, The Story of King Arthur and His Knights, conveys the true spirit of the England of that time, when Arthur Pendragon was overlord of Britain and Merlin was a powerful enchanter, when the sword Excalibur was forged and won, and when the Round Table came into being. "Howard Pyle's 1902 retelling of the English classic captures all the mystery, language, and legend of the early days of King Arthur….The old stories take on a fresh vitality under Langton's skillful touch and leave us looking for the next volume."-AudioFile

With music and sound effects, this audiobook is perfect for those who love Ferdinand and those who have yet to meet him. A true classic with a timeless message, The Story of Ferdinand has enchanted readers since it was first published in 1936. All the other bulls would run and jump and butt their heads together. But Ferdinand would rather sit and smell the flowers. And he does just that, until the day a bumblebee and some men from the Madrid bullfights give gentle Ferdinand a chance to be the most ferocious star of the corrida—and the most unexpected comic hero.

COMMENTARY Reviews for Alcazar AudioWorks' production of The Story of Dr. Dolittle A childhood favorite I loved this story as a child. The kindly Dr. who finds his way despite all insurmountable difficulties, the clever animals and the far fetched voyages and adventures are all wrapped up nicely with a satisfying ending. Now my children love this story and narration and have listen to it several times. Frohman's narration is well done with little quirky accents and a good sense of timing. This was a good purchase.
