At LoveReading4Kids, we believe that reading for pleasure changes lives - and that no single organisation can do this work alone.
Our Literacy Partners are the charities, organisations and initiatives working across the UK to help children discover the joy, confidence and opportunity that reading brings. Together, we form a connected network supporting families, schools and communities to nurture the next generation of readers.
We are delighted to welcome The Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE), a UK-based charity dedicated to improving children’s reading and writing by helping schools teach literacy creatively and effectively. Working with early years and primary settings across the UK and internationally, they support teachers to inspire children to read and write for purpose and pleasure.
From professional development courses and research programmes to their wide range of teaching resources, CLPE empowers educators with the knowledge and tools they need. Additionally, their research informs national and international literacy practice, showing that when children experience high-quality literacy teaching and access excellent children’s books, their attainment in reading and writing rises and they become confident, enthusiastic readers and writers.
CLPE's core mission is to improve the life chances of children by ensuring that every child has access to quality experiences of literacy and that all teachers have the knowledge and resources to support children to become confident, happy and enthusiastic readers and writers, with all the benefits this brings.
Power of Reading EEF Research Trial
Built on over 50 years of CLPE’s research, the Power of Reading methodology boosts reading and writing attainment. It supports teachers to deliver a high-quality English curriculum, whilst developing children’s oracy, reading fluency, comprehension, writing stamina, and composition through creative teaching strategies.
The CLPE is currently recruiting for their Power of Reading EEF Research Trial to test the impact of a professional development programme for Year 5 teachers, supporting them to create a high-quality English curriculum through comprehensive training.
