When Susanna lands herself a plum work experience placement in the world of journalism she’s thrilled but she then discovers that doing work experience is not all it’s cracked up until that is she gets the scoop of the summer. Teenagers will learn much about life in the real world whilst at the same time identify with the aspirations of teenage living.

But the reality of the job is not quite what she expects. The editor, Nell, treats her like a skivvy, personal shopper and all-round dogsbody and the rest of her fellow office workers aren't much nicer. However the job does have a few perks, such as being sent out celebrity-hunting with the hot magazine photographer, and spotting her heart-throb, Randall Sanders.
