Underlying the twists and turns of Fritha and her family’s eye- popping adventure Dave Shelton’s story is packed full of warmth and emotional intelligence leaving its readers happier and also wiser when they’ve finished the book.

Fritha, a girl with spirit and attitude, sets out on a journey with her father which should be a simple enough delivery job although it is a long drive across the Barren Wasteland to the castle home of the King. Instead, it leads to Fritha to meeting the Big Wise Head, encountering a lost squirrel who turns up in the most unexpected places, being imprisoned in the smelly castle dungeon and having to fight the Monster dressed as a chicken. And, despite all of that and much more, everything ends happily ever after!
