September 2026 Book of the Month

A hilarious and vibrant graphic novel with beloved characters is back with its third installment. Donut Squad is perfect for fans of Bunny vs. Monkey with its mind-twisting comedic beats and fast paced action.

In this story, the Donuts have returned from the future, a future that bans donuts from existing. They have one goal, stop this nightmare from becoming a reality. With characters like Anxiety Donut, Caramel Jack and Godonut, it’s guaranteed to keep children reading, laughing and talking about the stories.

As a librarian, I love these comics because they keep students coming back for more. The illustrations are bright and grab the eye and the dialogue, like Bunny vs. Monkey, is super-fast and engaging.

An indication of its versatile nature is when it makes the adults laugh, and I have laughed at all three Donut Squad books. The students I work with really love the short sections, these make it easily digestible and also give students something to look forward to when they pick it back up again.

There’s also a huge sense of achievement with students who finish these books in a short period of time. There’s also enough vocabulary to keep strong readers engaged. These are great books to read together, as there is a lot to discuss regarding heroes, villains and the many, many situations the donuts end up in.

I love graphic novels in general and I love seeing students get excited about new ones that arrive in the library. The Donut Squad is the perfect addition to any bookshelf, it’s wonderfully funny and so bright and interesting to read, I really love this series and recommend them to anyone.

Lots of laughs in this fun, adventurous and donut-packed graphic novel!

Donut Squad: Destiny of the Donuts is a fun, action-packed graphic novel with lots of different characters. I like that the same characters return throughout the book in short comic strips. It feels like you get to know them, their crazy behaviours and habits.

I enjoy reading it with my Dad as he does silly voices for the different donuts. I love it when different donut flavours and new bits of merchandise get released because it’s silly, random and makes me laugh. My three favourite characters are: Caramel Jack the Pirate Donut, Choccy-Plops the Chocolate Donut and the Attack Donuts, which jump into people’s mouths when they insist they don’t want one.

I would recommend this graphic novel if you like books which are colourful, funny and quick to read.... Read Full Review

This book is hilarious, with characters like Spikynut. If you love random storylines with a grand finale, you will love this book.

There were loads of random storylines with a few strips of the main story running through it, but then in the end there was a grand finale where they joined and characters were getting into the wrong strip.
One of my favourite parts was the Dangernuts strip. I thought one of the best characters was Spikynut. Another favourite part was at the end they had a regular donut, but he was just saying "extreme". I found that hilarious. My second favourite strip was Choccyplops because he always got chocolate on Jenkins' robes.
Thank you for letting me review it.... Read Full Review
