Aesop's Fables have much to teach, and have provided inspiration for children's books through the centuries and around the world. Their wisdom is welcomed by librarians and book lovers, as an essential addition to the bookshelf.
“Amanda Hall’s beautifully textured use of crayon is particularly successful in her depiction of animals where the light and shade suggests the weight or suppleness of their bodies. Her artworks are framed tableaux in which elements break free to dramatic effect – the wolf in ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’ advances menacingly towards the reader; the traveller in ‘The North Wind and the Sun’ is almost buffeted out of the frame by the North Wind’s fierce gusts.” Books for Keeps - ‘Book of the week’
“Lion Hudson produce some beautiful keepsake books and this is another one to treasure.. The retellings have all the wit and wisdom of the original and read aloud really well. The well-known stories are here.. and it’s a delight to have some less common fables included. A lovely book to give as a gift.” Parents in Touch
