"Typically charming Holly Webb story about a very special pet."
No-one writes animal stories with as much charm and warmth as Holly Webb and this new tale is particularly appealing and satisfying.
Ava and her dad inherited Albert the Sulcata tortoise from her grandad. He’s already 45 years old and Sulcata tortoises can live to be 150! Ava really wants a dog, a puppy would be much more exciting and fun to play with that Albert, but her dad says one pet is enough.
Various things happen though to make her realise that Albert is much more important to her than she realised, and a very special pet indeed. This little story is full of drama and says so much about pets and why we love them so much. With characterful colour illustrations throughout and published by dyslexia specialists Barrington Stoke, this story will be enjoyed by readers of all abilities.
When Albert makes a daring escape, Ava realises that tortoises might not be quite as boring as they seem in this gentle animal story from worldwide bestseller Holly Webb.
