"From the team that won the Young People’s Comic Award Winner comes another installment in the Star Cat series!"
August 2025 Book of the Month
Robot One has destroyed an advanced civilisation through his treacherous littering habits. His punishment? He’s taken to meet the unbearably loving Space Unicorns!
What follows is a head to head battle between Robot One’s selfish pride and the Space Unicorns’ sweet sweet loving nature.
It’s a bright, extremely funny (and punny) adventure full of good intentions and extremely chaotic behaviour!
The Star Cat series is very clearly organised with bright, bubbly characters that absolutely leap off the page. Captain Spacington is absolutely desperate to be a hero and will do anything to fulfil his dreams. Turner’s writing paired with Sheikh’s artwork is the perfect blend of comedy and engaging images. Each comedic turn is masterfully controlled, as chaotic as the story gets, the reader will be fully on board with the ingenuity of the pacing and the story.
My advice is to read it more than once as each panel will undoubtedly contains multiple little jokes that you might miss if you don’t take your time. There’s comedic payoff after comedic payoff which makes this series a must for parents, kids and librarians alike. The series is a testament to the commitment the two creators have to the story and to these remarkable, memorable characters. They make it all look effortless, which isn’t easy, but the result is a hilarious, slapstick comedic adventure.
This is a super-fast, hilarious comic book that is brimming with jokes and slapstick comedy. It combines Saturday-morning cartoon humour with seriously fun adventure stories. Phoenix has also supplied comic drawing activities inside which will keep any fan of drawing and graphic novels going for a very long time. I can’t wait to see more of this series in the future!
