Within this warm-hearted story about finding your place in school, Invisible Dogs is a wonderful celebration of imaginary play which will delight all those who already enjoy it while also inspiring others to begin to do so.
At home Ida is busy and happy. Her favourite thing is playing imaginary games with Grandpa. But at school she becomes shy and silent as she finds it all too noisy and busy. Clever Grandpa comes up with an idea to help her. Soon Ida begins to take her own friends to school: two imaginary dogs!
Looking after the two dogs gives Ida plenty to do in the playground and what’s more she finds out that there are other imaginary pets there too! Ruby Wright captures both the real school environment and the imagination of the children perfectly.
When you start school, sometimes you need a best friend (or two).
Ida is so noisy at home, but at school she is so quiet she doesn’t make any friends. Luckily her grandpa knows the best game to cheer her up: invisible shops. Little does he know that it sells invisible dogs, and those dogs are going to cause chaos!
Packed with humour this tale with reassure school nerves.
The imaginary dogs are only visible to Ida and the reader so the chaos they cause is hilarious.
Neon pink pantone ink throughout bring sthe invisible world to life gloriously.
