Marooned On Australia

Marooned On Australia Synopsis

Ernest Favenc's adventure book "Marooned on Australia" takes place in the late 19th century in the Australian outback. The narrative recounts the adventure of two Englishmen named Jack and George after they are shipwrecked off the coast of Western Australia and have to make their way through a hostile and foreign environment in order to reach a place of settlement. The Australian bush, its flora and animals, and the difficulties faced by those who attempted to tame it are vividly described in Favenc's book.

The book also examines the cultural conflict that existed between the Australian aborigines and the English colonizers, illuminating the intricate and frequently bloody history of European settlement on the continent. Favenc gives readers a look into a bygone age and the hardships experienced by people who tried to forge a new life in a difficult and unforgiving environment through the exploits of Jack and George.
