Great story, fun puzzles!
I really loved this graphic novel puzzle book.
While driving to Puzzlevale for their annual holiday, Pandora's parents go missing. It is up to Pandora, with the help of her favourite comic book Detective, to solve the mystery.
I enjoyed solving all the different puzzles with Pandora and Detective Crow to find the clues and work our way around Puzzlevale. All the pages are in colour, and there are lots of hints and tips if you get stuck. There are lots of different types of puzzles to get your brain working, but my favourite were the code-breakers.
I enjoyed telling my Mum all about the story and showing her the puzzles I had solved.
I would recommend this book for 8-11 year olds, and I can't wait for book 2 to come out soon!
An adventure book that's full of puzzles. It is fun to read and I like the storyline and characters!
I like this book as its really puzzley. It is easy to read, the puzzles challenge me and I love the comic strip story. I like looking at the pictures for clues. There are alot of mysteries and I just can't stop reading it. I showed all of my friends how cool it is!
Adventurous and full of puzzles which you don't often get in a book. 5/5!
The whole concept of the book is very different to any others that we have read.
Breaking up the story with puzzles and riddles in order to solve the mysteries was such a very clever way of keeping it interesting. It reminded me of Zelda- but without the screentime!
It was a book that we read together (7 year old and 5 year old) and then worked together to work out the answers. Every evening they were very excited to get together and find out what was going to happen to Pandora next.
Toby age 5 loves the door challenge in mystery 22 and enjoyed finding the correct shape in order to open the double door. ‘I really enjoyed doing the puzzles especially the counting ones’
Jacob age 7 found the alphabet phone challenges really good ‘I liked that they took more time to do and was a big challenge. The way the crow was actually a boy was really clever and something I didn’t expect’ The illustrations in the book were really bright and have great details for the characters. The ending of the book was interesting and made me really want to read the next one! The bit where she had to find the mask seller was also a bit I really liked.
Pandora is a brave, adventurous girl, on a mission to find her parents in Puzzlevale. Pandora’s journey is full of interesting characters and challenging puzzles. This story will resonate with adventurous, kind, puzzle-loving children, like Pandora.
Pandora is a brave, adventurous girl, on a mission to find her parents in Puzzlevale. With only her puzzle book ‘Detective Crow’, Pandora sets off to find her Mum and Dad. Unexpectedly, ‘Detective Crow’ starts interacting with Pandora to help her on mini missions. Puzzlevale is dark and creepy. At times I felt scared to read on.
Pandora meets many characters on her journey and has to solve many puzzles to move forward in the search for her parents. The puzzles can be challenging. Sometimes I needed help.
Pandora is just like me. Happy, adventurous and kind, except when tired and meeting rude receptionists. I still have some practice to do to become as observant as Pandora, she uncovers the tiniest of clues!
This is a large book, it will keep you puzzling for some time. I liked Pandora’s personality, I felt a little scared at times, I enjoyed some of the puzzles but found some to be difficult, I also found the book to be too long. I might enjoy this book more when I’m older.
