Dank ihrem Göttibuben Nis erinnerte sich die Sängerin Stefanie Gubser, wie ihre Mutter Claudia ihr Abend für Abend erst ein Märchen vorgelesen und sie danach mit ihrer warmen Stimme in den Schlaf gesungen hatte. Ein Einschlafritual, das ihr Sicherheit und Vertrauen gab. Aus dieser Erinnerung entstand die Idee, eine CD mit Schlafliedern und Grimm-Märchen für ihr Patenkind aufzunehmen. Sie würde die Lieder singen, die Märchen aber sollte ihr Vater, der Schauspieler und 'Tatort'-Kommissar Stefan Gubser, lesen. Und zwar auf Schweizerdeutsch. Und der Vater überlegte nicht lange, meinte aber: 'Dann, liebe Tochter, verpacken wir die CD doch schön, und zwar in einem Buch.' Und so geschah es.
