En 2009, Françoise Simpère publia sur son blog un billet dans lequel elle racontait combien les contes de Micheline Maurel avaient enchanté son enfance et sans doute influencé positivement l'adulte qu'elle était devenue, à tel point qu'elle avait toujours conservé ce livre, que ses filles ont également adoré. Un commentateur laissa un message, pour lui dire combien ce billet l'avait ému, car Micheline Maurel était sa sœur aînée, et elle venait de mourir à l'âge de 93 ans. Curieuse coïncidence… Françoise Simpère décida alors de republier « Him-Li-Co et autres contes » (livre aujourd'hui épuisé) de Micheline Maurel, qui n'était plus édité depuis 1958, puis fin 2020 d'en faire une version audio, lue par la comédienne Françoise Cheritel. Les illustrations sont de la jeune graphiste Anna Lubinski, qui s'est engagée avec enthousiasme dans le projet.
