Matt Brown has worked as a radio producer, DJ and TV presenter, appearing on children’s channel Nickelodeon and hosting shows including The Bigger Breakfast, Love Island Aftersun and “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Now!”. He is currently the host of Heart Thames Valley radio breakfast show. He has held snakes in jungles, driven huskies in the arctic circle and persuaded a taxi driver in Delhi to let him drive his cab.
As a former children’s TV presenter Matt really knows how to make kids laugh. Matt also admits that writing the books is “a pathetic attempt to curry favour” with his two sons (aged 4 and 7).
Matt has always loved writing stories and has done so ever since he was a kid. He says: “Basically the story is autobiographical even though I have never travelled through time. Compton Valance is a ten-year old, much cooler version of myself.”

Winner of the Books for Younger Readers category of the Children's Book Award 2020 | Ian Iansson is a little bit worried about his school trip. Firstly, Ian doesn't have any friends, plus, his mum has packed him ten pairs of pants for the two-day trip. But as it turns out, these are the least of Ian's problems... Because when Ian's class arrives at the spooky old house, there's something very weird going on. Something that looks awfully like zombies; groaning, dribbling zombies that no one but Ian seems to have noticed.

Compton Valance and his best friend Bryan Nylon are unlikely heroes, but they managed to create a time machine out of a mouldy cheese sandwich and save the universe from certain destruction. Now the sandwich is safely in a museum, and life is back to boring normal. But then the two are recruited into the Future Agent Research and Training Academy, aka F.A.R.T. and time-travelling again! The crazy plotline, eccentric characters and witty footnotes and author comments had me laughing out loud, heaven knows the effect they’ll have on the target reader, who’ll also fully appreciate the snot jokes! A humorous and informative book, debunking a range of commonly held myths about animals. Camels store water in their humps and magpies love to steal shiny objects. Or do they? A must-read in the Everything you Know series, this book debunks a range of old-cod stories about animals in author Matt Brown's inimitable humorous and fascinating style. Covering everything from the myth that lemmings throw themselves off cliffs in suicide (they don't, but on occasion some just fall off) to the one about bats being blind (they're not, and they can see but use the more sophisticated echolocation for certain hunting). From head in the sand ostriches to cats landing on their feet, a wealth of information on our beloved pets to creepy crawlies and wild giants, this book will set the marvel of the animal word straight. Plus, there are special features on the odd diets of animals and how wrongly they are portrayed in the movies. All the old stories and myths about animals we've had since childhood are gleefully debunked in a hugely entertaining book.
Is it better to prove our point? Or just try to love? Christians today are facing a crisis of influence. In our rush to speak truth to today's tensions, cultural issues, and trending controversies, it becomes all too easy for us to focus on proving our points rather than extending God's grace. Conversely, when we seek only to love but never proclaim a better way, we short-circuit God's plan. As believers in Christ, we need to be known for both truth and love. In this video Bible study, evangelist Matt Brown draws on the example of the apostle Paul to show how believers can influence their world with the truth while living in a way that reveals their love. By developing the fruit of the Spirit, we naturally begin to draw others to the love of Christ within us . . . and to the truth found in God's Word. Truth plus love is the formula for transforming our lives and influencing the world for Christ. The Truth Plus Love Study Guide includes video teaching notes, discussion questions, Bible exploration, and weekly personal study and reflection materials. Sessions include: Truth Plus Joy Truth Plus Peace Truth Plus Gentleness Truth Plus Faithfulness Truth Plus Patience Truth Plus Love Designed for use with the Truth Plus Love Video Study (9780310112358), sold separately.
