A week in the life of Eric Doomsday contains more chaos than most 7 year old boys could possibly achieve..but what fun! After a disastrous magic show which descended into a food fight Eric really needs to improve his reputation at school or he'll never be invited to another party again. Cue the school Talent Show and Eric sees the perfect opportunity to win back some credibility. Unfortunately for Eric the judges turn out to be aliens, here on a voyage to inspect and destroy UUURRTH. And unfortunately for the aliens Eric has a few tricks up his sleeve. This is a great early reader, with short chapters, lively artwork and the jokes keep on coming. Bonkers and brilliantly entertaining.
Eric Doomsday loves doing magic tricks. But even though his best friend, Vinnie Mumbles, thinks they're great, they do always seem to go a bit... wrong. When some very important School Inspectors threaten to close down Eric's school, his headmistress decides to put on a talent show. A talent show with Eric in it. And Eric's magic tricks. Thank goodness the Earth isn't being inspected by aliens at the same time! Because magic, aliens and talent shows are sure to be a horrible mix... Aren't they?

About Matt Brown
Matt Brown has worked as a radio producer, DJ and TV presenter, appearing on children’s channel Nickelodeon and hosting shows including The Bigger Breakfast, Love Island Aftersun and “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Now!”. He is currently the host of Heart Thames Valley radio breakfast show. He has held snakes in jungles, driven huskies in the arctic circle and persuaded a taxi driver in Delhi to let him drive his cab. As a former children’s TV presenter Matt really knows how to make kids laugh. Matt also admits that writing the books is “a pathetic attempt to curry favour” with his two sons (aged 4 and 7).
Matt has always loved writing stories and has done so ever since he was a kid. He says: “Basically the story is autobiographical even though I have never travelled through time. Compton Valance is a ten-year old, much cooler version of myself.”
