Jean-Marc Mathis, known as MATHIS, is a French comic book author, illustrator and children's author. Initially a draughtsman in the construction and public works sector, and later a sailor, Jean-Marc Mathis eventually attended the École de l'Image in Épinal and then the Beaux-Arts in Nancy. Today, he devotes himself primarily to children's books. He is notably the author of Le Roman de Renart, the Boris series and the wordless Coco comics. He lives in Nantes, France.
