"Two estranged but fiercely loving sisters are at the heart of this dark and deliciously twisted thriller"
High achieving academic and almost reclusive Nora and social butterfly and talented dancer Sophie are the dual narrators of this story.
Readers gradually realise that Nora’s “confession” is about the events leading up to the disappearance of Sophie’s rich and popular boyfriend Garrett and Sophie is telling the story of events after the disappearance.Gradually the sinister web of privilege, exploitation, corruption and murder is revealed.
It all started when Garrett cheated by copying one of Nora’s essays and the school blames both of them equally, threatening Nora’s Ivy League aspirations. The complex plot is so carefully and gradually revealed that it is necessary to avoid spoilers in any review. Suffice it to say that you will be kept guessing until the very end.
The sisters are incredibly strong in their very individual ways and their loyalty and faith in each other is sorely tested but triumphs. Emotional relationships with others are similarly well drawn making the whole book intensely satisfying. An intelligent, emotionally literate thriller writer to watch out for!
