"A fun adventure story that effectively highlights ecological issues too"
Sheldon the Hermit Crab is on the lookout for a new home. He’s outgrown his shell and needs somewhere bigger and comfortable for himself and his barnacle friends.
Finding something suitable is a challenge though and things look bad when poor Sheldon ends up stuck in an old glass bottle. Fortunately, there’s a young girl there with a lovely collection of shells to help. This story works as an adventure – there’s real jeopardy for Sheldon when he’s trapped in the bottle – but also delivers an effective message about the danger litter on beaches poses to wildlife.
Published in association with Surfers Against Sewage it does a good job of making beaches look the absolute best place to be, and of encouraging children to do their bit to look after the environment.
