The moment I first read Peregrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm, I was blown away and fizzing with excitement. As someone who adores classical mythology, I just loved Ash's clever playful twist in reimagining these gods and creatures and how she reinvents them to behave in a modern tech and bureaucratic age. It's quintessential children's literature at it's finest!
I also love how libraries are at the heart of this series and are portals separating the terrain realm to the mystical mighty cosmic realm of the gods, guarded by librarians. It's such a genius idea - where else better suits as a place to transport you to somewhere beyond the bounds of your imagination?
Then of course there's just the wonderful cast of characters which will remain etched in your brain. From the feisty determined young Peregrine who's determined to save her whimsical genius godfather Daedalus who gets kidnapped, the kick-ass librarian druid Rowan who's on a mission to redeem herself after 'falling asleep at the wheel' at guarding the portal, the fretful and unlikely faun hero Cal who I can deeply relate to on a personal level, the sharp alchemist and manipulative second prong villainess Hekate, and of course who can forget the sassy duck Arthur who never says a word but has very expressive eyebrows that say too much!
I could go on and write a full sermon on this exciting epic novel. I have loved reading the fantastic praise it's been receiving since launching in April and I look forward to reading what else is in store for Peregrine & co in 2025...so watch this space!

About
Peregrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm Synopsis
Peregrine Quinn has always loved hearing her godfather Daedalus Bloom's stories about his life as an immortal, but that's all they were - stories. That is, until the portals that connect the Terran Realm with the Cosmic Realm mysteriously shut down and Daedalus, the only one who can fix them, is kidnapped.
Peregrine is then swept into a nail-biting adventure, racing through the streets of Oxford, down the riverways of London and into the Under-Underground. She soon realises that not only are the creatures from her godfather's stories real, but they're shooting at her with laser blasters. Fortunately she has help from dryad librarian Rowan Strong and Olympus Inc. liaison (and faun) Callimachus Thorn. Together they must fix the portals and rescue Daedalus before an ancient evil rises and chaos takes over. Time is running out and the fate of all the realms is now in Peregrine's hands . . .

About Ash Bond
Ash Bond writes magical stories that have classical myth sprinkled through them like fairy dust. She is now studying for her PhD, focusing on the relationship between mythology and landscape, at the University of Bristol. When not reading about myths, Ash is also a yoga teacher and loves to move - insisting she gets her best ideas when swimming in rivers, stomping up mountains or doing cartwheels.
