It’s bedtime and a little girl getting ready for bed has an important question for her daddy, tapping away on his phone. What if you run out of words, she wants to know, ‘Will you have any left for me?’. Dad guiltily puts the phone down and reassures her. He will never run out of words and even if he did, he’d go down to the Elves’ Word Factory – depicted in a gorgeous cross section – and buy an infinity bottle’s worth.
The little girl wants more reassurance and a series of further ‘what ifs’ follow. Dad is quick thinking enough to come up with escapes from all the situations she imagines, finally confirming what she’s known all along; he’ll always have words for her (the infinity bottle appears again), especially the three most important ones of all.
Dads (and mums) everywhere will recognise the scenario and the story is full of warmth and family love.
