Full of hope springing from adversity, this is a touching story elegantly told, whose mood is captured in beautifully evocative illustrations. Chandra grows up hearing the tunes celebrating the wonders of nature that her mother plays on the magical flute. But, when the floods come, Chandra’s parents are swept away.
All Chandra has left is the magical flute which comforts her in times of trial and feeds her in times of famine. Finally, the flute leads Chandra to a better life where she is loved again.
Her parents swept away by a catastrophic flood, Chandra finds solace in her mother's magic flute. Set in India, The Flute is an enchanting tale of the power of hope and the resilience of the human spirit.
