"A cheerful, positive story that explains ADHD to all."
March 2026 Debut of the Month
This bright, positive picture book, with its cheery vibrant illustrations and bouncy rhythmic text will be a help and a comfort to children with ADHD and to their family, friends and classmates.
There’s a drummer in my head, tapping out a beat, says the little girl telling the story. She’s happy stepping in time to her inner drummer, depicted as a cheerful shadowy version of herself, but sometimes when there’s lots of noise and busyness, things get too much and she needs to block out the outside world, for a while at least.
The story takes away any confusion around ADHD, explaining it in a way that will make sense to readers of all ages, and everyone will understand when the girl says she loves her little drummer, because ‘they know the rhythm of my heart.’

A joyful rhyming picture book exploring neurodiversity that's perfect for EVERY young reader.
